An unarmed pregnant woman in Kansas City has been shot five times and seriously injured on the left

This is terrible.

An unarmed, pregnant black woman was reportedly shot five times by Kansas City police Friday night while her hand was in the air – and she reportedly made no threats to police officers.

According to Defender of Kansas CityVictim, a 26-year-old woman Leona Hell (Not pictured above), shot by two policemen near the Independence Plaza neighborhood in what community members now call a “horrific, execution attempt.” The Kansas City Police Department A suspect has claimed responsibility for the shooting in an attempt to arrest Leona and her accomplice in connection with a stolen car. But eyewitnesses are now speaking out – condemning PD for a description they say does not match what happened at the scene.

ShedanjaAn eyewitness who recorded the incident after the shooting on his phone said Kansas City Star He heard officers shouting at two people in a nearby car to “get out of the car.” A man (not pictured above) jumped out of the driver’s side of the car, jumped off a fence and fled. He is quickly followed by two policemen, the other two behind him. The woman then raised her hand and got out of the car. Police tell her to get off the ground, but Leona tells them she’s pregnant and can’t lie down. He told them there was a gun in the car.

But when the police started shouting at him to get down to the ground, he started backing towards a fence next to the parking lot. During this time many police officers took up arms, Shedanja said.

“He did not take out a weapon on them. He did not even have a stick in his hand.

Although he was unarmed and apparently trying to cooperate, he was shot five times. Witness continued:

“One two three four five. I remember because it didn’t stop. They shot five times. I saw him hit the ground and I froze.”

After he was seriously injured, officers handcuffed him, dramatically increasing the chances of his death. Fortunately, despite being injured, he is still alive and well in a hospital. Shedanja asked officers why they shot the woman, but they all refused to answer. You can see his footage from the tragic incident (below).

So, so horrible.

This is another example of the complete difference in the way the statistics of the authorities treat people of color versus white people. Take the Buffalo Massacre as just one example. After the massacre, police were able to safely arrest the white male suspect – and yet they could not safely arrest an unarmed pregnant black woman with her hand up ?! It’s not just yoga.

Interim Kansas City Police Chief Joseph Mabin Speaking to reporters on Friday night about the incident, he said:

“We never want to be in this situation. Not the public, but the police department. At any time it is a detrimental event for our community. I want to assure the public that the scene is safe. There is no ongoing threat. The highway patrol will investigate the incident. We are committed to being 100% transparent. Fully support highway patrols. It’s a holiday weekend. It’s time for friends and family. This is not the time for violence. “

A.. If this weekend was not really the time for any “violence” then perhaps his officers should not have fired so soon ?! After all, they seem to be the real “threat” in this situation. Just talking.

As expected, we are not the only ones to be offended by this legal issue. See the opinions of a few people Twitter:

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Hell is currently investigating the unarmed shooting, as is the process in an attempt to provide neutrality. Think, fan reader?
